Providing 24 Hour Support
CEDC’s Residential Program provides 24-hour support to females suffering from eating disorders and may serve as a viable alternative to hospitalization for some clients. Our 37-bed program serves medically stable adolescent girls and women who are ages 12 and older struggling with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or a binge eating disorder. We have three residential floors: one dedicated to adolescent girls, one for our emerging adult population (ages 18-24) and the other dedicated to adult women.
Residents receive personal, on-site structure and therapeutic support in order to overcome their debilitating eating disorder. Each resident’s individual treatment plan includes: nutritional, individual, family, group, and psychopharmacological treatments to help each resident develop new coping mechanisms, restore normal eating patterns, and gain an understanding about the function of their eating disorder. Example schedules for the adult residential program and adolescent residential program outline what types of therapies are offered and provide a detailed overview of a resident’s typical day. A multidisciplinary team of professionals with expertise in the treatment of eating disorders works to provide the highest quality of care to our residents.
CEDC will work with Massachusetts school departments to provide tutoring through a well-respected tutoring company. The tutoring company coordinates the academic needs of the adolescent patients with CEDC’s Academic Liaison and the school’s guidance counseling and administration for patients unable to attend classes due to Residential attendance.
